Hi,

I have read quite a lot on this forum regarding bluetooth prep and whats required to add bluetooth but most of it seems to relate to US cars.

I have a 2006 "56" plate 520D SE without bluetooth and wondered if anyone knows what I need in the way of hardware / software to add BMW blutooth to my car so it can all be done through the iDrive.

Do I need a new module, if so what part number, and how much should I be paying to the stealership for any installation / software updates to enable it?

You either need to get Bluetooth retrofitted by your dealer because coding is involved. Or buy an aftermarket kit like Parrot that allows you to use the steering wheel control too.

I really wouldn't bother with the factory bluetooth; loads of trouble and expense and it probably won't do the job.

Parrot HIGHLY recommended.

I am actually thinking of fitting a Parrot so I don't have to use the car bluetooth.
