i understand there is no voice command with "base" idrive, so this is not about that (though i love it in parents 745i).

i thought i read something a few weeks ago that made it sound as if all e60s (us spec at least)came prewired for v60s. i was wondering if thats true, if your supposed to be able to use the phone hands free for your already stored numbers?

UK bluetooth option has voice command with seperate memory to store up to 50 names and numbers. In Europe only options are BMW professional phone with wireless (bluetooth) connection between 'phone and car or the universal Bluetooth kit, however the Bluetooth snap in adapters are currently only available for the Siemans handset and as I have two Nokia hansets paired with the car it is a bit irritatting not being able to charge them or connect to the external aerial at present, otherwise the Bluetooth works very well and transfers all phone data.... A-Z list, last number dialled, top 8 numbers, missed calls, rejected calls etc to the car.

 

BLUETOOTH WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE ON E60 U.S. CARS UNITL MARCH PRODUCTION. CALLED BMW MONTVALE AND COULD NOT GET AN ANSWER AS TO WHAT PHONE OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE. SURPRISINGLY I HAVE SEEN PICTURES OF BLUETOOTH PHONE IN E60 BUT MUST ASSUME THIS IS UK NOT US CAR. MY E60 IS BUILT AND AWAITNG TRANSPORT AD PER OWNERS CIRCLE. :( IF ANYONE HAS INFO ON PHONE OPTIONS PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I WAS DISAPPONTED ABOUT BLUETOOTH NOT BEING INCLUDED IN PRE MARCH PRODUCTION FOR U.S..

 

Voice command is not available before december 03 in Europa.

And bluetooth with NAV PRO is not available before ... september 04!

 

Just to clarify, Europe bluetooth has sepaerate voice coommand for 'phone only operated from button on steering wheel, I am using it in UK on Sept. production car.
