I ordered 84-21-0-307-726 Adapter
It was 157.50 (I am sure I go ripped off). It sopposedly comes with clables and connectors for power and antenna. I should have it next week.

I am about to place an order for it because I feel the power consumption is very fast in case I am in the car with V551. Looks like BT communication costs us a frequent buttery charge. I want to solve it by putting this cradle. Please let us updated your experience. Thanks in advance.

I just got the V551 yesterday (-$75 rebate) but I too noticed the battery drains pretty fast. Doing a little on-line check, I found out that the talk time of V551 is only 3.5 hours and stand by is only 60 hours. There are no upgradable battery at this time in U.S.
My old T610 has twice the talking hour and stand by time than V551. I will try to get the SE K700 in a couple of weeks.

I'll second those hours as noted. And not using any special features such as camera, bluetooth capabilities (yet) or data/message transfers. I was a little leary of getting this model knowing its capabilities, instead hoping to get a v620. However, the price differential, the threat by Cingular not to support my non-Cingular v620 purchase and the fact that I would SOON have this integrated in my 6er with an adapter providing continuous charging convinced me to go ahead with this model. Not disappointed so far as I knew what I was getting into before purchase.

As long as those of you who DO have 5/6/7ers say it works then I am expecting no problems as well. My adapter was supposed to have been ordered by my SA in time for install upon delivery of my 6er. Not sure that will happen due to the length some of you have had in obtaining your adapters. But one can only hope it all comes together.

Right now, I am using the car charger that came with the phone. It is sitting on the passenger seat.
I get about 4 days of standby with Bluetooth on, but I never tlak more than 20 min per day on my phone.

They did the BT upgrade without any problems (for $100) and my Cingular V551 (< $100 phone by now) paired with the car without any problems at all. Phonebook transfer took over 5 minutes; it transferred not all entrys, however. Call quality is very good.? ? Thanks to various people for posting service bulletins etc.!!!!!!!!!

I also ordered the snap in adapter with the power and antenna connections. Will be here next week and I'll try to put it in myself.

They also replaced my driver's seat rail (something was loose and the entire seat was wiggling). BMW has changed the rails between 8/04 and now and the plastic trim didn't fit anymore. The trim had to be ordered from Germany, will take 6-8 weeks!

Well, congratulations, I am jealous. I just bought 2 V551s from Best Buy, and guess what! I cannot get either of them to pair with my 05 545. I had previously tested a Cingular dealers' V551 and it paired fine, so any help you can give would be most appreciated. There is something I have forgot to set or a sequence problem.

Thanks

Joe

I followed exactly the sequence in the BMW service bulleting posted on this board for bluetooth a while gao. Make sure that BT power is turned to on in your communication settings on the phone and I used the "find device" function. Does gthe car find you phone at all? Let me know what you tried and I see what you did differently.

Followup, my problem with the pairing and setup of the V551 was the sequence in which I set up the bluetooth, and the pairing of the phone. Also, you need to be more patient with the phone. So, I deleted the bluetooth connection, and deleted the device from the phone and started from scratch. I set up the connection, and then paired the phone, and just waited. It took about 1 hour for the phone to transfer the phonebook, and then everything worked OK. It is not hard to set up, but you do need to be patient.

I will be most interested in your endeavor to set up the "snap-in adapter".

Good Luck

Joe

To delete the bluetooth connection and start from scratch, the car and phone have to recognize each other correct? I cannot even get the car to recognize the phone. When I Find a Device in phone, it states no device found. Any suggestions. My Treo 650 was recognized quickly. I am thinking of exchanging the phone. Thanks.

The adapter came in today. It is a piece of plastic with a plug at the bottom. The phone seems to fit, although I will have to remove some rubber plug in the back.
The adapter doesn't fit in the console tray and it seems I will need a bezel for it.
Also, it has no cable attached to it as all the previous posts showed, just the plug at the bottom. Will the cable in the center console be long enough to fit? I have my doubts.
If anybody has access to the BMW parts listings or manuals, please let me know if I need a cable or/and the bezel.
