HELLLLLLP!
I installed my snap-in adapter and hooked up both wires. (antenna and large black plug). I connected to sharkfin extension in the trnuk and the phone is now using the sharkfin. But it will not charge the phone. I took it to the dealer who says that it will not work with my 04 530i. Anyone?????

Probably best to include your phone mfr/model and adapter part number (if known) and maybe even vehicle production date for these experts here to assist you.

Repeating my post in another thread.
It is not possible to retrofit phone cradles in 2004 MY build cars as the wiring is incompatible. Wiring harnesses were changed in 2005 MY cars. I tried to retrofit a cradle in my 2004 and was told that it would not be possible except for the CPT 5000 Moto phone.
Point 4 in SI B84 13 04, the major Service Bulletin dealing with BT in 04 and 05 MY cars states :
4. For E60/63/64 vehicles produced from 3/04 to 8/04, Bluetooth? functionality can be added to most
of these vehicles by updating the vehicle software using CIP 13.2 or higher. After this is performed
"Retrofit" of "Tel Bluetooth" needs to be performed. Follow the procedure as described in this Service
Information for "Activating Bluetooth" and "Pairing the Handset". Vehicles prior to 3/04 would need to
have the TCU replaced with the 2005 MY TCU at the customer's expense and the vehicle updated to CIP
13.2 or higher. Phone docking cradles may not be added to these vehicles because of wiring
incompatibility. Note: This software update and retrofit is not covered under warranty and is at
the customer's expense.
