My Ride: Arrived 3 June 2005: 2005 545i - Orient Blue, Black interior, Sport, Steptronic, Cold Weather, NAV, Sirius, Logic7, Comfort Seats, Sunshades. What a glorious ride!
You don't need a cradle. Throw the phone on the seat (or leave it in your trunk; wherever) and it will work just fine.
Cradles can do two things:
1. Provide a convenient means to charge the phone, without having wires strewn out in the cockpit.
2. Use the car's shark fin as the phone antenna. This is no big whoop for me since my Moto e815 has a great built-in antenna, but if yours isn't so strong this could be a good thing for you.

I have a Treo 650. Can I get the adapter from BMW, or is there a website that I need to contact?
