Thumbs up

Hi, I'm new to this forum and I'm taking delivery of a Carbon Black 535d Sport in 2 weeks. Can't wait

There seems to be a lot of compatability problems with various handsets (even one's BMW say are compatible!) and would love to hear from anyone who has a handset that works well with Bluetooth. I would particularly like to hear from anyone that has a car they've bought very recently as date of manufacture seems to be a big part of the problem and also if anyone has a Sony Ericsson K700i (I'm not sure if that model is available in the US) as that is the handset that my network supplies that best suits my needs.

Welcome David..

I have a K700i and it is definitely not compatible. It works once, for a little while then it's over. Keeps connecting and disconnecting.
Got a 610i on order, that should be 100% compatible.

The attachment is a list of UK compatible phones. Nothing fancy there I'm afraid..

That's weird. I have just got a locally assembled 520i here in Egypt. Part of the local package is the bluetooth ULF kit. This was installed by the dealer right after I took delivery of the car. They gave me a Nokia 6310i with it. I tried the T610 and that worked nicely. yesterday I bought a K700i and that worked very nice too. I've done about 30 calls without a hitch. Phone book sync is great and voice quality very good. The only thing missing is a cradle for the K700i.

Just my $0.02

Hi I have the Siemens S65 that I consider a fancy phone. I also have the cradle. The SE K700i should also be compatible and there will be a cradle soon I heard from BMW Germany.

I have Bluetooth on my 04 e60. BT is wonderful with Nav which includes Voice Command. The Motorola V600 works well on Cingular for me. I like Motorola phones because Motorola has a long standing relationship with BMW. The new new Motorola RAZR apparently uses the same BT chips as the V600 so it should work fine. I will switch over to that phone when it comes out just because it looks cool.
