Hi all,
I finally managed to get this resolved! After all the searching for software updates CIP versions additional software on the phone and getting a Nokia phone and cradle the dealer i took it to said they found a fault with the microphone and replaced it!
I now have a working car kit! It is usable but wish the microphone was a bit louder for the other person - it saves me from haveing to shout!

Just to let you know the outcome of BMW's looking at my K750i Bluetooth problem:
The BMW service people checked BMW's internal records and announced that the SE K750i's operating software needs to be version R1AA008 (which came out in Dec 2005 and was superceded in Feb 2006). My phone had been updated to the latest SE version R1BC002 and the BMW view was - too bad, you need to go back to the older software.
Sony Ericsson will only provide the latest version of their operating software. However I went to http://www.davinciteam.com/phones/index.ph...mp;do2=firmware and for ?7.50 bought a "backward update" to R1AA008. That solved the problem and everything now works as it should - although the phone's directory was erased when the phone was flashed. I had a backup on my PC but if I hadn't had this, I would have had a problem.

Thats annoying that an upgraded firmware does not work! It is supposed to fox problems and give improvements not to break things!
Thanks for letting us know.
