Bluetooth

OK, lots of posts on Bluetooth ..
I have had and used succesfully since may2004 a Sony Ericsson T68i both in and out of cradle with no issues..
Phone got toasted so got a Sony Ericsson K700i with BT. I.d'd the phone to the car etc no worries, got the phone book uploaded and could voice control etc no problem.. 2 issues -
1) - phone keeps dropping BT then re-acquiring it every 10 or so seconds..
2) - when i make a call they can hear me really well but i cannot turn the volume up at all in the car so unless i am stopped it is useless.
Is this a software verion issue, in which case i can add it to the growing list of challenges for the dealer to look into.
Last software update the car received was august 2004 to fix the window obstruction warning and to try to sort the seat error.
List of stuff for review at next visit -
Bluetooth ???
Passenger side electric seat only works intermittently.. cuts off for days on end
Tappett type noise when cold
Bizarre oil dipstick readings
Any info appreciated..

As you may have discovered the k700i is sadly not compatible with BMW BT. Not a lot is I'm afraid. Shame as the K700i is a greta phone. Some people have made it work, but only in different countries. For the Uk it's a non-starter. The new siemens S66 (??) is apparently OK. That makes it about the only sensible option. I'm still stuck with a SE T610 and hate it. It's a crappy old phone
Sound quality seems to a be a problem with all phones. It's just 'pants'! Good luck

I have the Treo 650 and was told it is a world phone. It works great with the car. Maybe you can try it.
Sorry to here you are having trouble with your current phone.

I recommend the Treo 650 as well. Awesome phone and, well, a mini computer as well. I am using bluetooth on the Treo 650 tight now to allow it to act as an internet modem (wirelessly) as I ride train home, with my laptop.
No wires. Gotta love it!
