Blue Tooth Install / Retrofit

Gents,
It's like this topic is coming to a slow death. Or am I dreaming
I spoke to a German engineer with my dealer and he passed my VIN over to their guys in Germany .... well they came back saying that my car does not have Bluetooth, but there is a Bluetooth Kit that they can install in it. Well, Well ... the German rep calls me saying that there was a kit in the store with them. Now I do not know when this kit came out ... my thinking is that it came out late Feb 2004 ... could be wrong though. So now I'm taking my car back to them for this install. This is costing about the equivalent of $1080 
I'm desperate to get this installed as I've been stopped twice by the cop for using my mobile while driving.
Tired of the cat n mouse thing when I see them
Meanwhile UK guys, can you give us any heads up on this if you have any experience?
