Do you need to have 16.2 on the BMW. Idon't think i have it because my nav is not 3d. i boutght my car in March 05.

I will update my blackberry and try this out.. I have been waiting forever for thsi nextel to work with the BMW.

But..

It does not work in idrive. I have to place calls from the handheld.

I also had to delete my prior bluetooth pairing and re-establish a net new pairing with the car and phone.

I would imagine that the 16.2 upgrade will add the idrive compatibility. But for now this works good enouhg for me.

The software upgrade also knocked me off the BES server at work. No big deal i will call my it group and get back on.

I have a brand new Nextel BB7520. Can anybody get DirectConnect to work properly? In my phone with the latest software, the nextel beep of DC comes through the speakers but nothing else does. And this is only for incoming. Outgoing does not work at all, not even the beep. Can someone confirm? I had the i605 and DC worked perfectly with Idrive.

That would be hot - push and hold the iDrive wheel to talk - or one of the programmable steering wheel buttons.

Odd that you wouldn't get the audio as well as the DC beep. A phone call is just two DC's nailed together... the underlying technology Nextel uses is simplex. Built on old taxicab dispatch networks.
