Default another bluetooth pairing issue

I have a 2008 LCI 530i and my bluetooth works intermittently. When it does work everything is working as it should. When it doesnt work, its the only problem the car has. Could this be a sign the TCU unit is going out? I did the iDrive reset and for some reason the profiles dont show up in the bluetooth settings page anymore. Sometimes it connects up and then after a minute it drops out. I read on this forum somewhere that if I cant turn the bluetooth connection on and off from the settings page something is not working as it should. Which is indeed the case when i cant connect to the car. Just in the last day, it hasn't been connecting at all. Has anyone got any suggestions before I take it in to the dealer? No errors show up in iDrive not even the SOS error. Using a iPhone 5 on iOS 7

thanks
Terence

Bluetooth is kind of sketchy sometimes. I would unpair the phone, clear out all pairings and start over! Good Luck!

i ended up buying a new tcu and installed it. Has not been coded to my car yet although I can pair to it and it connects and functions. Does anyone know what features will not work if the tcu is not coded to the car? I have the SOS function. Does that affect it?
