Guys,


I have CIP ver. 15.2 on my 2004 525i. Follow these steps:

While inside with the car running, go to the Communications settings and set the Bluetooth communication active

Nextel I605
Go to the Bluetooth menu
Click on Link Devices, once the phone detects the BMW system
It will prompt you to enter a Pass key (1-16 digits)
Enter the number press OK

Now the IDRIVE will prompt you to enter the Pass key, make sure you enter the same number you entered on the phone, then click on Confirm Passkey
You will then see the phone listed on the IDRIVE, exit this menu and the phone will prompt you to accept the communication with the car
You are finished

OK, with my full production i605 that does not work. The phone goes through all of the steps you mentioned but when you go to the Communications section of Idrive, it says Please wait for a while and then it times out and it says Please Activate Phone. You mentioned in another thread that you had to have HANDS FREE = ON. I assume this is a Bluetooth profile for the phone. On my i605 I cannot find this option. I think I got only a Headset profile. I am wondering whether Nextel crippled the production i605? Can you clarify a bit more?

bump...

I talked to Nextel and they said that the software on my phone is old and needs upgrading (2 day old phone) but they cant tell me which is the right software version or who carries it??? Service centeres dont yet have any software to upload...

ponster... when you say it pares with the car, do you mean that it transmits the whole address book from the phone to the car and you can dial with voice commands or only that you can answer and make phone calls with the wheel buttons?
