Remus AT has not yet answered, their technicians are at it.
You've clearly shown no interest in the exhaust, I ask you the same question.

i dont think one can say for sure that flow is reduced, because the muffler itself may have a more free flowing design. Pipe diameter is overrated.
Id say its disappointing to see the lack of R&D on the fact that the exhaust doesnt simply fit onto the cut pipe.

We've clearly pointed out this needs to be welded on.
This exhaust also fits the 545i, hence why we bumped this thread.

You logically cannot be interested in buying, in your opinion, a dissapointing exhaust.

You made it clear that it has to be welded on? Yeah right, let me quote you ?Both are same part number. It's a bolt-on using stock hangers.?
if anyone else buys it, they have the right to know what they are buying. what are you going to tell your customer when they come on here and complain that you falsely advertised the unit as a bolt on? Tough luck? should have done their research first? well, this forum has provided the answers to a potential buyer now, and may avoid wasting their time getting it installed at the wrong place, or having to make two trips. Heck, some might not even want to cut their exhaust IF they knew before hand. so the forum has done its job and done YOU a favor.
Im not out to disparage your products, but if you are advertising a product incorrectly, we have every right to call you out on it. If I am wrong, tell me where. I will give you this, you were correct in claiming that ?We have no problems holding those mufflers in stock.?
Why wouldn't you want to answers these questions?
I am fairly new here and have been watching these classifieds for some time now. I have never seen a seller act this way in regards to a product that they are selling. You have done nothing but misrepresent your product from the very first post, including your other thread for the quad, you have done nothing but leave information out and when you are questioned state this is a "sales thread not a technical thread." Then you are proud to say that you have clearly stated this also fits 545, when it was practically dragged out of you that is was for the 545 originally.
That is part of sales, knowing your product and answering questions. I for one am tired of all the "bumps" when you refuse to answer questions or just be open with the facts from the beginning.
I am sorry that my first post is such a negative one, but I have had enough of these guys and their holier than thou attitude. There is a reason that you have to keep bumping these. Everyone is reading your replies and it looks as though you are being evasive and trying to hide information. I have a bone stock 2007 550i and am logically interested in a new exhaust, so everyone's questions are relevant to me, yet your answers are nothing more than double speak and circle talk and I wish that a moderator/admin would step in.
I would imagine that if you were open, honest and forthright from the beginning that this would have sold by now, you would have a better reputation, and could have moved on to another sale.

Here's the clear info we have :
545i :
Bolt-on
10hp dyno proven gains
fits with mtech bumper
550i :
NOT a bolt-on, needs to be welded on, still waiting on the technicians on piping diameter and fitment
no dynos
fits with mtech bumper
We bumped the thread because the exhaust originally fits the 545i as a true bolt-on.

In order to fit this exhaust to the 550i, you need the adapters that are attached.
This is included in our instructions and in the box, the reason why NY550i had problems must have been because he bought it used and the original customer did not foward him the adapters.
So there's the answer. The same exhaust will work for the 545 (without the adapters in the pics.), and for the 550 (with the adapter pipes). NY550i probably had the fitment problem because the muffler he got did not have the adapters.....not just because it was used and the original owner did not send them, but if the original owner bought the Remus for the 545 before the 550 came out (2004-2005) then there would have been no adapter pipes included to begin with.
Remember that if any 550i owner had bought this exhaust from Remus Exhaust Shop (or any other source for that matter), there would not have been any problems as when they received the item the adapters and instructions would have been included with it......there would have been no fitment problems. The problem only came up because someone tried to fit the exhaust on a 550 without knowing that adapters would be required.........and there was no way that they could have known as this info was not available from Remus).
I think most of the blame in the confusion lies with Remus Austria. They should have added a couple of footnotes on their website and product description saying something to the effect: "The included adapters must be used for 550i fitment" and "The vehicle's original pipe must be cut in order to bolt/clamp on the Remus exhaust." Had those two lines been there to begin with there wouldn't have been any confusion and argument back and forth.
Matt at Remus Exhaust Shop................I don't know whether you received the picture and information about the adapters from Remus Austria or whether you found the adapters and instructions in the box of the one you have in stock, but I think there would have been much less confusion and tension here if you had just looked in the box of the exhaust that you have in stock and found the adapters and instructions the first time people started to raise issues about the 550 fitment a week or two ago.
