Thanks EUROCARFANS for reminding me to update this thread.

Sorry the late replys guys, Its been extremely busy here in the shop. I am still waiting for the company to supply me with the dynochart. I keep it on my to do list

In the case that the dealer reset your ECU, We will re-chipped it agian for FREE. It takes 2-3 days to get it done or you can wait for the next time they are here in the bay area.

For those who send me email - please try to re-send it again. We are uploading a new website and we are changing server. I might not get your email. E-mail it again to dwongkar@carlabms.com. Sorry for the inconvinience.

However, We have to postponed this Chipping Event until at least after Thanksgiving, The owner just called and let me know this.

Do I have to be in the bay area, and how much does it cost to chip a 05 545i? Know anyone in Houston, Texas that does chipping for this car?

Thanks,

If you are in Texas, you can contact speedinnovation directly at www.speedinnovation.com

I really don't want to pi$$ you off, but it shouldn't take 2-3 days, it should only take 2-3 hours!!!
And it IS DEFINATELY detectable by BMW and its dealers.

I think you misunderstood my reply on the thread above. We are located in norcal and speed innovation is in socal. How is shipping only takes 2/3 hours. The fastest is overnite shipping and it still take 2 days at least. The chipping itself takes about 30 min.

How can you proved that it will be detectable by the dealer. We work with many local dealerships here in the area and even the master tech (who happend to be my friend) in one of the dealer can't detect it. he even recommended the chip upgrade to their customer.

I have seen it done and no way in the world that the dealer will knows unless they go through every single code, and trust me you don't want to go through that.

Which tuning company do you represent?

Could you post dyno charts substantiating your HP and torque increase claims?

What do you mean by the following--I already use the highest octane gas available, so how does it help:
We achieve this by remapping the standard software in your vehicle Electronic Control Unit (ECU), to suit higher octane fuels.

It won't affect your standard factory warranty
Isn't the chip tuning detectable by the dealer?
What about when they upgrade the CIP--does it write over your chipping?

1. The company is speedinnovation - You can check their website at www.speedinnovation.com
2. I will try to get the dyno sheet from the them tommorow.
3. We modified the air and fuel ratio to suit 91 or 93 octane fuel better.
4. The chip won't be detectable by dealers. In the case the dealer have to reset your ECU, We will re-chipped it again free of charge.

As a reminder, I (and I'm sure others) would like to see dyno charts substantiating your HP and torque increase claims. Looking forward to you posting them.

Still waiting for dyno chart.
Another question for CarLab, when you remap ECU, does it also alter transmission shifting characteristic?
Thanks.

It's been 2 weeks since I asked for dyno charts...surely they must have them...to be able to make their performance improvement claims...

I talked to Darwin at CarLab yesterday. He's still waiting for Speed Innovations to provide the charts.

You guys should note that CarLab was going to host the chip tuning event for Speed Innovations. CarLab doesn't do the programming themselves. You should also try to contact Speed Innovations or EuroRev for the charts.

I trust Darwin with my car and I know if he has the charts he'll gladly share them with everyone.

Tick...tick...tick...

Am I the only one who wonders why it would take a month to produce dyno charts?
