xenon lights

im talking temp, there is only one color scale for one temperature value, and as you can see even on your pix, pure white is 4K while 6K is blue, xenox nor halogen makes a difference
the scale i posted shows 6000K as pure white. Or just look at your OEM 4500K HID's. They're not white, they are yellowish.

Yes the ~4300K color temp has the best light output in lumens. If the OP wants better lighting he needs to retrofit his 35w ballasts with 55w ballasts. The D2S bulbs will burn out faster but they will still outlast halogens. If after a ballast upgrade you still aren't happy you could replace the lens of the projector itself with a euro spec lens. They are typically more optically clear. The US DOT requires the lens to be cloudy to reduce the lumens because they think they blind oncoming drivers.

Hi Folks,
My last bmw had the standard halogen bulbs and i got the kit to upgrade them to xenons. Fantastic result. My new wheels came with xenons factory fitted and they are total crap. When on dip and if its raining it borders on dangerous. Now i see that you can upgrade the d2s bulbs to 6000k or 8000k but my understanding is that although they may look cooler, they dont give out more light.
I dont want to look cool i just dont want to hit anything.
Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks

if you throw in 55W ballasts you're getting A LOT OF OUTPUT.. I'd really suggest not to do this.. especially in NY. The cops there are on that like no other. I'm not sure if that's allowed by DOT standards either but who cares

Yeah if 55w ballasts aren't bright enough for him then he needs to get his eyes checked. They are very bright

Thanks to everyone for the replies, I will take some pics and post them. Lots of stuff to consider.
Are the 55w ballasts just a plug in change?
Where can you get clear lenses in the uk?
And would 6000k seem brighter?
I can only compare with my last hid upgrade from hidsuk. They had 6000k fitted. Well good.
However, they did not have the cloudy lenses like I have now.
Cheers

Cloudy lens? def. need some pics man.
I personally noticed that a '07 S-class has higher lighting output than my '07 6er... Rog are you sure there is nothing else other than Kelvins ? maybe watts or so ? I wanna do a swap and see the difference
Projectors make the biggest difference, our e63 projectors arent that great... Benz E class, S class have some insane light output... Bulb brands make difference too.
Good question on the watts Khaled... because I seen people selling "35 watt" and "55 watt" hid kits...
