Congrats BMW! You Broke the Guinness World Record for Longest Drift

That’s right, on May 11th, BMW broke the previous Guinness World Record for Longest Drift, almost seven miles, by 44 miles! The new record, set by an M5, now stands at 51.3 miles! That’s like the time you drifted straight from Manhattan to your folk’s posh pad in Fairfield, CT. I say, well done, Chauncey. Granted, you were in a crab-walking E30 with a malfunctioning parking brake.

While Guiness defines “drifting” more like we’d define “doughnut,” which is to say, spinning in a circle, not driving around a track ass-out, it’s still an accomplishment. We also won’t bother mentioning that BMW wet down the Greenville, SC Performance Driving School skidpad where driver Johan Schwartz broke the record. Check out the video below…
