Blancpain Champs Go To Baku

The FIA GT series finale gives invitations to certain GT3 class teams, and this year  has invited the Marc VDS class BMW Z4 GTE to participate in this year’s race.

The Belgian based squad features team regular Nicky Catsburg and BMW factory driver Maxime Martin.

The street course race was to take place in two weeks time, but due to construction of the circuit in Azerbaijan, the race was pushed back to November 23rd and 24th.

The date changed benefitted Martin in a major way. If not pushed back to the November date, Martin would not have been able to participate due to driving duties in the ALMS season finale at Petit LeMans.
