My Ride: 2005 BMW 545i, Titanium Silver. Bridgestone 760s on Weds Bavaria II 18" wheels, standard sport pack size. Sport, AT. Latest job - NGK Iridium IX plugs installed.

OK, I should have looked here the first time..clearly, the seal has had it. sorry for this horrible pic not much room for the camera there

Boy that is scary.

It is clear now we need to make sure to take a look in there whenever we have the water pump off

I think so, I'll be more certain once I get under the valley pan. There's one connector behind the intake manifold that's been real stubborn.

Finally completed the pipe install yesterday. Will follow up with the DYI. Now on to dealing with oil leaks on the driver side, presumably from the alternator mounting bracket and the upper timing case cover.

Update - Car has been on the road over 500 miles since all the fixes were done, so far so good.

great!

I just did a water pump on a Range Rover (same 4.4 BMW motor) so I have an idea what is involved for the water pump. The water pipe will be easier once someone has some pictures to show, It will be nice just in case the pipe goes bad on my 545i

Thanks for taking the time to take pictures, I know it can be time consuming.
