This shows where silt gathers just under the lower corner of the tailgate glass. This appears to be (another) design flaw. On the other side of mine, the paint is bubbling and needs to be repaired. I think it could do with silicone sealant around the trim to prevent water ingress.

Used the hammer to weight down the tailgate - dont want it to fully close when disconnected.

Wire taps to the solenoid to open the glass. Attach while you are still able to open the glass and remove the interior panels, otherwise the glass can get jammed shut.

3 wires which were about to break - fix the whole lot!! Other side already had failed wires.

Showing the connectors to the Antenna Diversity Module (RHS, Glass). I cut these off with about one inch to spare and soldered them to the ends of the new Sencom loom, which came with a replacement grommet.

Showing cables pulled through where the rear speakers are, in process of replacing a temporary fix and putting the new loom in with crimp connectors. Soldering was too much fiddle in the car. Already burned one mark in the roof!
