Fully Recirculation vs. Atmospheric Vent:
The Turbosmart Dual Port BOV can either be configured as a 50/50 (progressive porting give early valve lift recirculation and later valve lift vent to atmosphere), fully recirculation BOV or 100% vent to atmosphere. Your N54's stock system is a fully recirculation design that "recycles" the blown off air back into the turbo. The recirculation design does not provide that "woosh" BOV sound, but still will provide you with all the other benefits of upgrading your BOV. The Turbosmart Dual Port system includes a special blanking plug allowing you to set it as a 100% atmospheric vent, where the blown off air will vent to the atmosphere and will produce that "woosh" sound.
