Here's to clarify:
Version 2 is a little bit brighter. not that much brighter. u really have to look close and put them side by side. Version 1 has the tube style LED bulbs and each bulb contains 6 leds inside. Version 2 has the tube style bulbs as well and contains 2 SMD LED bulbs which is as bright if not brighter. The other wedge bulbs are the same except that in version 2, ALL the bulbs have 5 SMD leds for the wedge and version 1 only has the center ones with 5 SMD LEDs while the rest has 4 SMD LEDs. Version 2 should last longer but no guarantee. LEDs last a long time anyway. The version 1 is the last set and is available for $80 shipped. Version 2 is available for $95 shipped. Version 1 has been discontinued hence the price $95 for version 2.
