A couple pages back Joe set a cut off date, which was like Nov 28th or so...
I'm Just hoping Paul get his "stuff In gear" and gets the funds moving, I've been waiting over a month (it was received on Nov 5th) since Joe got mine back...

Gots bills to pay , G.I.Joes with Kung FU grip to buy...

Hi Guys,

I've been getting a lot of PM's and emails regarding the refund. I talked to Paul and they are still working on the 2nd/3rd batch of refunds. Once I get it I will send it out to you. Also, I can't take anymore AFE intakes as they have cut me off, BUT you may contact Paul to refund the money back to you. If you have any questions or concerns I will always be here to answer them. Thank you for being patient.

Here is Paul's information at AFE:

Company: 951-493-7100
Direct line: 951-493-7106
Fax: 951-493-7177
Email: paulhardley@afepower.com

When I was looking for a 'CAI' for the 5'er, I came across Trinity and autoanything. Autoanything had the AFE for about $10 cheaper, but I wanted to go with a site sponsor to support the forum. This is the kind of service that makes me glad with my decision. I'm really late to the show, but it is nice to see a vendor sticking with their customers when the manufactuer makes a folly.

Funny thing is prior to purchasing the stage 1 intake for my 545i, I emailed AFE to see if they were going to release a stage 2 like they have for the 550i (to avoid a heavy mod project like vegastrashed did). They response was during testing, there were not enough gains from a stage 2 vs stage 1, so they scrapped R&D.

I'm on the fence about doing the direct return to Paul. I'm pretty sure I still have the original box, but I could be thinking of another car's intake I did that is in my garage's attic. It looks really nice under the hood, but the gains obviously aren't there.

What proven alternatives are their to the stock airbox, after removing the charcoal filter and putting in a K&N drop-in?

This works. R1Racer sent me Pauls information. I e-mailed him and he e-mailed back the same day and sent me a return number to put on the box. I mailed it out a couple of days ago. We'll see how fast the check comes. Paul was responsive and helpful.

I will let you guys know how it ends. I hope it ends better than my attempt to get the splitter I paid for from Detto...
