Thumbs up

Dear all,

The iDrive "Window anti-trap function disabled" message won't go away and I'm out of warranty, so stopping by the stealership just for this is prohibitive. I did several searches and I cannot seem to find the iDrive reset for this warning message, all I could find is that apparently Rudy posted one sometime ago. Can somebody help me out and point me in the right direction?
Thank you

is one of your windows anti-trap feature malfunctioning? Did you follow rudy's post regarding the reset and resolve the problem if so?

this post is a little more informative in terms of exactly how to perform the anti-trap reset

The iDrive message will clear itself once you perform the simple anti-trap reset. I did it and it took all of 30 seconds. G/L

Thank you all for your helpful information. I think this would have solved my issue but here's what happen today:
Went out for lunch with the instructions printed to do the reset, I start my car and the message did not appear!!!
I even shut down the car and start again, and still no message, it is gone, I did not do anything and it just went away, after bugging me for the last five days, every time. So I activate the window switch to the second position and the window rolls down all the way, cool, I'm glad to have it back but, it was weird, it magically dissapear, went away.
Anyway, thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
Cheers!

I'll have to try this..

I'm getting the same error message... Mine happened when I was letting my window up, my Mom started saying something, and I stopped the window and began letting it down again when I heard the chime no one wants to hear...

Windows still go up and down, just can get rid of that damn message. Will try this process.

You can still do the reset procedure, even if you're not experiencing the error message. It won't do any harm and it may just prevent the error from returning in the future...
