Actually I like CA as a feature in general and can't imagine my car without it anymore.
BUT Since last summer I have a problem that the connection between the key and the car is not reliable resulting in that from
time to time I am standing like a fool pushing or pulling the door handle until the connection is established. Sometimes during driving I get a message that the key is not in the car. I changed the batteries in both of the keys. Then the car spent two days in BMW garage but it helped very little.
I wonder if anybody faced such a problem?

Does it happen all the time or just once in a while? It sounds to me like a problem with the antenna systems in the car but it's hard to say...

It happened once in a while but looks for the worse now It is more often a problem to lock the door (almost in 50 % of the cases it takes at least two-three attemps to succeed) then to open it (about 10 % failures in the first attempt).

The antenna is in the trunk by the spare tire or in the spare tire wheel well.

My unlock still works almost perfect - my locking? I've given up - I think something is wrong with the sensor in my driver's door handle/key hole as it works PERFECT if I touch the rear door. BMW, we need a button on the door handle please.

I had an error in my car saying the key wasn't in the ignition and that it might not restart. Thing is, I don't have comfort access, and the key was clearly in the ignition socket! It came up once and hasn't repeated, but it's never nice when you hear the "ping of death" ... !!

I do not have statistics for the other doors (probably it's better) but anyway I can't say they are perfect either.

I also like CA but haven't experienced the problem you are having. I wonder if there are nearby sources of RF that are conflicting with the CA Module?

I really like it ... no digging into my pockets for keys etc. And it's worked flawlessly everywhere I go.

One untried scenario is valet parking - but since I tend NOT to use valet parking it's not an issue (yet).

There are multiple antennas for CA -- there is one in the trunk well but there are also ones around the car to help determine the location of the key fob (inside the car, inside the trunk, outside the car on the right side, outside the car on the left side, etc.)

That's one of the reasons why I was asking about whether the problem happens on all doors or just one...
