Default Rear Wheels question

I have a 550i w/ OEM 166 rims, my driver side rear wheel cracked!

My question is can I purchase a rear 166 rim, does it matter if it is driver side or passenger side? are the rims made specifically for each side?

If anyone has the answer please let me know, I am about to purchase a rear wheel, but owner does not know which side its from! If it is side specific, maybe there are markings on it to show which side it is on.

Thank you in advance!!!

OEM 166 staggered rims are the same left & right but different front & back.

AFAIK Style 166 came in 2 different offset one for M5 & the other for M6, the back of the spokes has info (like p/n & ET number etc) stamped on them so when in doubt take a clear picture from the back of the wheel to get an exact replacement.

GL!

^ correct. the M5 rear offset 166 is ET28, the M6 166 rear offset is ET17.

These are off of a M5! So the rear wheels are not side specific!
