The standard European "Sport Package" wheels are the style 135, which debuted on the E46 3 series a while ago.
For the E60 they are indeed 8x18 ET20 all round and carry 245/40/18 on all corners.
As you rightly said, even the E46 had 8.5's with wider tyres on the rear. WHy BMW didn't do it on the E60 is beyond me, too.

Oh well at least I have some 10.5J rears on my 20's at present to compensate!

Just get the following set up and you have your staggered set-up
18 x 8.0 front, 18 x 9.0 rear Star Spoke (Style 124) cast alloy wheels, 245/40R-18 front, 275/35R-18 rear. Suggest you put on Michelin PS2 or Conti Sport Contact 2 or 3 tyres.
Your dealer can help you with this.
Good luck.

I'm almost put off to get them but because I am only wanting them as a 2nd set of wheels I probably will BUT 8J all round is feable! a real let down - what the hell went wrong with BMW there?

My Ride: black
Model Year: 2008
The E60 535i Sport wheels/tires
tires: 245 40 18 Front. 275 35 18 Rear.
So the tyre size is the same all round? So no the tires are not same size. It’s like the BMW world forgot the sport model and finding a subsection for sport model with offset rims is diffficult. Can’t do it on tire rack .
they don’t know what a sport model is
