Default Question on the 18" Sport Wheels (E60)

I am thinking about purchasing a set of original sport wheels (i dnt remember the style number) but they are often referred to as MV2 wheels.

My question is: are the rear wheels on these suppose to be wider than the front? if so what size are they front and rear?

also what tyres sizes should they be front and rear?

Many Thanks in advance

Hi Harv. No both fronts and backs are the same size. I forget size of wheel width, but the tyres are 245/40/18. Usually come with run flats. Hope that helps.

Hi Mate, Thanks for the quick response - seems strange that BMW have put the same size rim all round. Most if not all sport models in E36, E46, E39 etc have staggered set up. I wonder why they are not on the E60.

So the tyre size is the same all round?

Thanks

I think it may be just these wheels, but yes they have same tyre size all round. In a way its good coz you can swap fronts to backs to get even wear.

The 19's have a staggered set up - see my signature.

Not sure about 17's or 16's.......but then no-one in their right mind would intentionally go for that size on their E60.

The standard European "Sport Package" wheels are the style 135, which debuted on the E46 3 series a while ago.

For the E60 they are indeed 8x18 ET20 all round and carry 245/40/18 on all corners.

As you rightly said, even the E46 had 8.5's with wider tyres on the rear. WHy BMW didn't do it on the E60 is beyond me, too.
