Does anyone know how does this feature actually work. Does the board remember what you've seen or does the board store information on my pc via cookies? I'm all the time accessing this forums via 3 different pcs and constantly feel like I'm missing stuff.

All I know is that from any machine I use it pulls down the latest posts from the last time I was viewing, it's the best way to keep current I think.

The post marker/read information is stored on the server so regardless of the computer which you are using, as long as you login, you'll be current from where you left off.

I've also found that it works best if you use the view new posts feature in conjunction with the "mark all posts as read" feature.

Once I feel I've read all the new posts, I click view new posts again to see if anything new pops up (since it's common for someone to post something new while I'm reading another post) and if I'm sure there is nothing new, I hit the mark all forums as read link to clear everything and return me to the board index. Later, when I return, regardless of what computer I'm using, I'll be able to hit the view new posts link and be guaranteed to see only the new posts since I last marked all posts read...
