I do not care to read about european, taiwanese or singaporaen posts, those models are not US models. We need a US only E60 Forum. I come here to find out about issues, problems, solutions, etc about my E60 which is a US model, but waste a lot of time sorting through foreign countries posts, with colors/options/engines/models different than US.
Maybe a 545i only thread would work best for us all in this specific context?

Rudy has articulated this very well for me. I very much enjoy reading posts from US and other owners in addition to those from the UK.
It would be better, however, if everyone took a moment to add their location to their profile.

Perhaps we should do a blitz on reminding posters with no location to add one? Politely of course...

When I post something absolutely specific to the UK market, I preface the subject with "UK: ". Of course we can't ask members to be systematic in such a way especially since it is usually not needed and difficult to ensure quality of compliance.

Any separation of forums by country would defeat the main purpose of this forum being here in the first place - the exchange of suggestions, ideas and issues on our cars - and the forums would be poorer for it. It would certainly not be as successful or valuable a forum as it is now. While there are regional variations in our cars and some of the issues we have (due to climate, for example), our cars actually have significant similarities.

Like Lancaster, I enjoy reading posts from all over the world in addition to the ones from members in the Benelux area. I'm also with Rudy and Lancaster on one additional thing - it would be most helpful for many more of us to populate the location field in our profiles - that helps a great deal.

oh yeah ... I think you will find that the US is BMW's largest export market. In revenues earned, the US accounts for EUR 12milion vs EUR11 million earned in Germany and an additional EUR 13million from elsewhere in Europe. Likewise, in terms on number of cars sold, the US represents 337k vs 288k in Germany, 154k in the UK and 375k from the rest of Europe. All figures from BMW AG's 2006 annual report.

I very much enjoy the international flavor of the web site. It is wonderful to hear from e60 enthusiasts from around the globe. Besides often they provide valuable information and share experiences about features issues that have not arrived in the US. For example it is interesting to hear our European brothers describe their experiences with BMW diesel engines. If you don't want read what someone posts just skip the post.

I too wish that everyone would add their location to their left column information. This should be mandatory.

Since I do Euro Delivery every 3 years I enjoy great travel tips periodically. I now know that an especially tough piece of sauerbraten might have been the result of an especially bad day for a horse.

Rudy as always is a heck of a lot more polite than I would have been.....

This works just the way it is.

Happy 4th everyone.

P.S. My wife is throwing a sore losers party for any fellow Brits.

I agree with the others that right now, the forum works well in it's current layout. This forum is the best E60 forum in the world -- no question about it. Why? Because we do have people from all over the world offering their collective experiences to assist others with this fine automobile we all love so much....

I also agree that it would be nice if everyone added their location to their profile
Well put Rudi.

I too enjoy the international flavor of the E60 Forums for this interntional marque!

In some situations, losing is a matter of perception...

Cool

V R a FAMILY, V keep in touch, V exchange views-thoughts, V discuss problems-issues, V get updates-ideas and so on.

If not V should have e60usa.net/org as main website like bmwusa, bmwca, e60,
but no, no sub-Forums under e60, please..
