This has been a great place to spend time over the last few years but I think the Forums has lost its "soul" a bit. I have been a pretty regular reader and poster but given the "crap" that gets posted and the incredibly high degree of post whoring I've really lost interest. I check back occasionally but rarely feel the need to engage .....................

This forum has been a tremendous assest to me and my hobby. I apoligize for my "system" ignorance in the past and make no excuses, only a pledge to pay attention. Your efforts are appreciated and needed Iceman, great food for thought

I don't know if that's possible and really don't think people are on a hunt to reach the 2500, so they can make up their own title...
Yes it is an incentive although minor...I still have a few more to go! I think in the early days of forum software there was a need to give incentives however trivial to encourage people to use it. I don't think that's the case now!!! Perhaps these kinds of rankings should also be removed from the site, or at least hidden. Post count and join date can be useful as info when conducting a sale but for the most part I don't care what other users count is. (Only my own!!! )

I don't even care about my own...
It's lonely at the top.
Hey, this, BTW is my post #17001...
Thanks for making me look over there so I can make a screenshot before posting this message and have the 17000 saved.

I post here because I really like our members, many of whom I have met at meets, some of whom I have seen socially outside of the forum and others of whom I have chatted with in PMs and over the phone. This is just a fun place to call home on the net as I, as many of you, have a passion for and an interest in our cars. I am always amused at how many of our members, just like me, started getting car magazines as children.
The ability to change my title at 2,500 posts or the differing titles as one gets more posts was not an incentive to post (at least for me). My title has remained the same ever since I could make one for myself. I drive my son Victor everywhere (and sadly, probably always will due to his challenges) so I called myself his designated driver. I'm proud of it because that's who I am. I won't be changing that one. But if all titles were somehow taken away, it would not make a difference in terms of my enjoyment in interacting with our members here.
