Hey everyone, in light of some of the recent board activity, I thought it would be a good idea to post a link to a thread from back in 2004 when a similar situation was occurring on another message board.
Whether you are new here or an old timer, I think you'll enjoy reading through what it was like in the early days when this board was in it's infancy. It's actually quite scary how the situation back then parallels the situation we're dealing with now. That other board is as dead as can be nowadays but I don't expect that to happen here since we are dealing with the situation and we will prevail!
Take a look:

(note that the above was post #1087 and we recently passed the 1,000,000 milestone!)

An interesting read! I don't expect we would have a similar situation here but we do need to learn from the past.

Wow Rudy you were such a rebel:
"I imagine that would be a violation of whatever user agreement I accepted before registering there. (Who reads those things anyway?)"
j/k, you guys are right and are doing a fantastic job ^ as you can tell I've been reading - that wasn't on the first page.

Oh yes, we all violated the user agreement over there and most of us got banned for it.
Even through all that crap and all those trolls over there, I don't think I ever stooped to their level and participated -- that's why I was so happy that we all chose to come over here and invade das' forums!
For those of you who haven't read the history of this place, and even if you've read it before, I think now would be a good time to read it [again]:

Thanks Rudy, the history of the forum is very interesting. I haven't seen Das around in a long time is he still active on the forum? I know Mark is (even as he plans his wedding).
