Just a quick general note.

The forum has grown considerably, I still remember reading the forum with 350 members. I am amazed that it still has the character, flair and direction it started out with and believe that this would not have been possible without certain coordination and moderation (admin) including the "moved" or even removed actions. No-one has been banned publicly (you see it on other forums) here - if people feel bored or disenchanted they just stopped posting. I'm sure not all >7k members post here...some just take what they need and move on. Those who stay believe they have something to contribute.

Housekeeping is necessary to keep the flair and direction of e60.net. Yes, it is an open forum
but in the proverbial final analysis it is still run under moderation, just like everything else in life (except free particles maybe )

I hope moderators/admin think, evaluate and act when cases like these pop up, but surely if occasionally they didn't = I would not loose any sleep over it !

Just thought I'd do some recreational statistics. As of me writing this post (21.00 GMT 22 November 2006),

7580 Members
1 With more than 10,000 posts. We all know who that is.
6 >5,000
56 >1,000
139 >500
534 >100
2023 >10
4458 >0

Which leaves 3122 that registered but never posted.

Edit: don't know why I typed up 73 rather than 7580

First symptom of addiction is its denial... though perhaps, judging from your own moniker...

Quoting Myself: How about creating a strictly performance-oriented thread with the emphasis on 5-series performance, per se, as well as 5-series performance in relation to other cars. IMO, the Competition Forum far too often contains discussion of other cars and their features, without even mentioning the 5-series, for it to be a reasonable place to house 5-series performance discussions. In general, the Competition forum is a far different creature than one that might deal seriously with 5-series performance.
Apparently this suggestion does not merit a reply from administration or a moderator. Also, I think that some of you are dismissing Joe's legitimate concerns out of hand. And, his topic is being hijacked by some making offhand remarks, jokes, etc. I suggest that we stick with the topic of the post. Finally, it is not true that no one ever has been banned publicly from e60.net. We like to say that no one ever has been banned, but it's just not so. Both Stream and FastCarFan were banned and were banned publicly in the sense that their status was shown as banned for a while and, now, their names no longer appear in the member listing. Yes, I know, it is impossible for me to stay on topic when mentioning the things I have mentioned above.

I go with you but not on the banning.
There is no point on any forum to baned some 1, Its just wast of time.
all they do is resign a new name and they are off again.
I have 5 accounts on this forum.
I have over 100 email accounts.
so that why itis wast of time.
just say if people don`t mess around in this forum itis OK
