Changes with guest posting

Due to some requests over the past few months, I've changed the way the forum handles guest posting. Effective immediately, guests will no longer be able to start topics. Guests will still be able to read and reply to all topics, and start topics in the Lounge, but only registered users will be able to do things like start new topics and post attachments/images.
So, if you're a regular visitor and haven't yet, please register; it only takes a minute!
Thanks, and let me know if there are any questions. If any 'guest' users feel this is a problem, you can reply to this topic.

It seems that there is going to be a mass exodus from RF over to here.
Would it now be worth changing the rules on guest posting again to make it ONLY available for registered users.
Would this be seen as proactive or do people think this is unnecessary?

I agree but until there's actually a problem, I don't think anyone need worry about it.
It's true that most boards do not allow guest posting. Up to now, nobody is abusing it here. The minute someone does, I hope das shuts it down for good.
Right now that's the only gotcha with the way things are set up here.
