WTB: CCC fan wiring harness cable
#1
If anyone has one please sell it to me or PM. I might go to a few junkyards and look for one.
It's right behind the CCC radio navigation unit.
Here's a PIC of what it looks like item number E.

You'll need at least 6 socket terminals, P/N: 61 13 1 393 704 and the plug housing for the fan X14055 - not sure of the part number.
Refer to this PDF for wiring: http://www.soscl.co.uk/e60navretro.pdf Scroll to '3. Overview of connections' and notice the polarity of the 3 pin harness (E1) where it is keyed on the top. With this information and looking at the female end of the connector on your fan harness you can easily see which wires represent each of the 3 necessary connections.
E2 - to pin 1 @ X13813
E3 - to pin 5 @ X13813
E4 - to pin 11 @ X13813
The connector X13813 is located in the main Radio/CCC harness but I cannot remember what area off the top of my head - I am sure someone can chime in.
Alternatively: In the past I have used test leads purchased from Fry's electronics as a temporary solution while I hunted junk yards for the proper wiring. The test leads fit very snug onto the pins in both the fan and the CCC and if you secure the leads to the existing wiring you run little chance of having them fall out in the short term.
