Question ?
I found out that my front bumper had been repainted by the previous owner after he hit some road debris. Long story short, the PDC sensors were painted over and are now non functional. Is it possible to remove the new paint and make these operational, or do they have to be replaced? The dealer wants almost $1100 to replace the 4 sensors, and says that the only come pre-painted to color match. I appreciate any and all advice.

Sorry to hear that chris, Sorry to tell you that the sensor would have to be replaced, cause once it's painted over it's useless. And yes those sensors are a lot of money you can try Garry at newport bmw he can get you a better deal then your dealers does. I have an set of 08 rear PDC and i dont know if they will fit fronts, but give garry an call cause all the members on this fourm have best luck with him. GL on getting the PDC situation worked out.

 

This is from RealOEM - looks like the last retail price for the sensors is $149/ea ... it shouldn't be too difficult to remove the bumper and replace them and the cost would be even lower if Gary applies his usual discount.
