My Ride: 2009 BMW M5 Monaco Blue over Silverstone
Default

Hello all,
I just purchased a 2007 mystic blue 550i w/ sport suspension, and want to replace the stock 18" wheels and tires. I would apppreciate any advice relative to wheel and tire sizes, offsets, or any other fitment issues. I am looking for a 19"/20" wheel/tire combination that will not rub. I like the mesh style wheels in hypersilver & chrome. Is $1500 for a package like this a realistic goal? I am a Navy pilot stationed in Pensacola Fl. (32507), So local California pick-up is not an option. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Zeke

it will be hard to get a set of 19 or 20 with 1500 unless you want to risk the quality of rims and might damage your car in long term.
also you will be hard to find nice chrome with 1500 plus tires unless you want really heavy wheels that makes your car much heavier.. i spend about 1000 just for tires and labor fee to transfer tpms. you can go for cheaper tire but wont hold the car as nicely as good tires...

245/35/19 and 275/30/19 is the one that you probably want for tire size but not sure with 20..
contact trinity autosport or eurorev other vendors and they probably can help you out shipping to you.
or rxmotors they are from florida i believe..

I would go for mrr gt1 if you want mesh style.

For new wheels and tires check out tire rack, Discount Tire and other wheels sites. As for new tires I would get the General Exclaim UHP's as they are the best tire for the money, bar none.

I would stay away from the CHINA made REPLICA (aka "STYLE") stuff as they are inferior products. I would also stand clear of companies you never heard of before. Lately it seems that everyone is making wheels.

No need to buy new, I would look for used wheels. Do not be scared if they have a scratch or two as every wheel will get scratches with daily driving. There are lots of wheels to choose from. Just be patient and look around the net (eBay, BMW forums, & craig's list).
A set of 20" BBS RSII's w/ Toyo Proxy Tires went for $1375.
on eBay last week.
I see these types of deals every week. Don't look for just E60 wheels, look for all BMW wheels. Most late model BMW use 5X120 bolt pattern and a 72.6 mm (E39 74mm) hub center. The E60 takes a low offset (13-25mm). However wheels with 35mm offset will work fine with a 20mm spacer. E46 M3 (and some regular models) staggered rims are good bet as there are prettty much a dime a dozen.

I see deals on eBay every day. Just look around and you will find the deal on the wheel you want.

ADR builds a good wheel for a good price.
ADR M-Classics (Nice wheels)
19" for $699 shipped
20" for $769 shipped
19" for $628 shipped. These ar black but action says other color available. I would ask.

ADR M-Sport
19" for $669 shipped. You will need (4) 20mm spacers and longer bolts (~$200) for these wheels.

Stern Wheels (made by ADR) are pretty good and inexpensive.

Hey Zeke - The 550 must seem like a snail compared to an F16.

Yah $1500 doesnt seem like a reasonable goal for 19's or 20's but i could be wrong they are reps out there for cheap. As for tire size check out my sig cause i got 20's and they dont rub at all 20x9(Fronts) 20x10 (Rear) and gotta love the color mystic blue

Front: 20" 20x9 w/ 245/35/20 Tires Rear: 20" 20x10 w/ 275/30/20

+1. If you're on a budget, you get a pretty good bang for the buck with the General Exclaim UHPs.

Here are some listed in the Classifieds section:

Axis Penta 20" wheels + tires = $1400
http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=62669

VMR VB3 19" wheels + tires = $1650 (shipped)
