How much does it generally cost to get springs and shocks installed?

Oh and front and rear sway bars.

I had 2 places quote me between $400-$800. I ended up doing the springs myself... Very tough job...

so I'm getting my car back tomorrow from the BMW's body shop. I cant wait to see my new Mtec rear and trunk finisher installed.

I can now finally get the rest of the stuff installed! Its been collecting dust in my living room for a while now.

The shop that was recommended by Discount tire sounded like a mom and pops shop when I spoke with them on the phone. I need to get my 20' wrapped mounted and balanced, alignment, springs and sways done. Do you think they can handle that with no problems? I spoke with the mechanic and they sounded all excited. It was like they rarely get ppl coming in to mount and balance 20 inch wheels and tires. They also said it might cost a little more. This place was one of the recommended shops by Discount Tire.

The local high performance shop I really wanted to check out is busy this week with a show and I have to go on a road trip Tues.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Ok...decided to go and check out this shop. Fukin ghetto!

It was a gas station!

So I give them the kit and showed them a wheel cause I'm already there. While I'm negotiating a price with the mechanic, some kid is going through my pro kit plus to check if everything is there. The kid comes back and tells me a bushing is missing for the rear sways.

Oh God! Tire rack messed up! and then mechanic gives me some ridiculous quote on the installation.

so I up and left!

So I decided to screw the pro kit plus and find someone to get and install me some coilovers.

I guess I wont be driving to Toronto in style.

If someone is within 50 miles Philadelphia and can acquire and install KW variant 3 coilovers by Mon or Tues I'm sold!

Admin, can you move this topic to the discussion area. I have no idea how it ended up in the classified section.

I didn't want to know after he told me 1500 for just the springs.

at the performance shop he said about 100-150 a side.

geeeeeeez! that guy is crazy. I don't blame you I would've ran out!

That's not a bad quote for the sways. It should take them under an hour for each one with the proper tools. Just a heads up it's REAL easy job in case anyone says otherwise.
Spring/shock installation is tougher but not impossible like some of these "mechanics" make it seem.

Good luck!
