As stel_i79 mentioned pre-LCI before Sept. 2005 production has many wires that goes into 3 plugs while after Sept. 2005 (that would imply LCI) production uses 3 wires that goes into 1 plug.

You have 2006 ... it's is clearly produced after September of 2005, no?
As mentioned those pre-LCI side mirror produced before September 2005 has many wires that goes into 3 separate plugs because until that time (9/'05) each door has each own control module then after that (which still include pre-LCI like yours then also the LCI) the mirror has only 3 wires that goes into a single plug because BMW started to use KGM a common body gateway module behind the glove box.

Hahaha saw this and had to comment. Welcome to NM. I'm guessing you got stationed out here? Maybe you'll see my white E60 around, I work at the labs. It's a small town too. I would have got some of this but already sold!
