My Ride: 2006 530xiT
does the oem ipod thing go in place of the cd changer? as in I pull my changer and plug this thing into the cables? Does car have to be coded for aux or ipod or does it just use the cd1-6 menus?

Yes it goes where the 6-disc changer is. And yes it needs to be coded to work. But it makes it work very well in the idrive system

they may be pre lci...BUT THEY WILL NOT FIT CARS PRE LCI BUILT BEFORE 09/2005
the cars build pre(before) 09/2005 have 3 connectors( 3 pairs of connectors) vs, the cars build after 09/2005 wich have 3 WIRES ( as the OP MIRRORS ARE)
