525 dse 2004 77000 miles
replaced air filter, old one full of leaves and crud
replaced crankcase vent filter with new type oil seperator
replaced EGR thermastat old one broken as i could blow through it
cleaned EGR valve thick of oil and carbon
took inlet manifold of and removed swirl flaps, these were the modified
type with 4.5mm spindles which were still solid but absolutely full of crud
also took battery out and gave it a recharge since i had to disconnect it
put it all back together and everything works fine no error messages
took it for a 10 min run to check engine temps with hidden menu
still only going upto early to mid 80s beforehand would only go
between 75 and 80 probably have to change main stat at some point
i have always done my own maintanance on my cars over the years
but i have to say i have never had to remove so much stuff out of
an engine bay just to replace an air filter, there is also too many
different kinds of fixings to contend with
i must thank anzafin for his excellent thread on the swirl flap removal
and minime for the thread on the egr stat
sorry did not have time to take pics wife wasnt happy it took as long as it did
