I'm posting this for a friend. He's selling an 07 steering wheel w/ paddles and heated option. Came out of his 07 550i that he crashed a while back ago. No airbag is included nor buttons. He's willing to trade as well for similar value. He's selling the steering wheel for $400.

Please email him @ j11gt2@yahoo.com

Thanks

Possibly, the heating option will not work on your car that's for sure. Only good for vehicles produced after 09/05

Are you sure they are heated? This has lane departure warning, I don't think it is possible to buy lane departure warning + heating + paddle shifter. Also it will need new SZL.

$400 is too steep for this. I sold mine for £50 + delivery here in the UK. Why this doesn't have thumb holder on the top arch? It is all flat, is this OEM steering?

I remember reading some where on here that someone modified his pre 09/05 car to fit one of these wheels this might be a good buy for me as I'm looking for a great deal but i gotta be totally sure I could get it to fit

Edit: I found the post but even with instructions the mod looks tricky https://5series.net/forums/topic/271...heel-to-sport/

According to my friend yes it's heated. How can you tell it has lane departure warning btw? Why would you need a new SZL? When I retrofitted my old diamond shaped steering wheel w/ a M-Steering wheel I did not need a new SZL. $400 is not steep. I SOLD my old diamond shaped steering wheel for $350. I believe the paddles where added, and yes this is OEM steering wheel.

When I retrofitted my steering wheel w/ a M-steering wheel I changed my base plate and I got it to work fine with no problems, my car is a 09/05 production. So it was right at the cutoff.

In the 3rd picture from top you will see the vibrator weight is hanging on to a motor. That is for lane departure warning.

As per ETK if your SZL has heating you can have lane departure warning without changing SZL but otherway round is not possible. If you car didn't come with heating or LDW you will need new SZL, now finding SZL with lane departure and heating is a mission. I gave up sometime ago. I retrofitted paddle shifters so been thru all these.

SZL base part number with steering wheel heater and/or lane departure warning is 61 31 9 204 504 but if you have just lane departure then the part number 61 31 9 204 503. If no lane departure or heater then part number is 61 31 9 204 505 (and even coil part number changes) These different part numbers must be for a reason, I don't know what exactly is different between them, possibly extra contact wires between the base and coil of SZL.

GLWS, I wasn't really lucky. I got rid my steering wheel for £49 here.
