Replica 18" x 8 M166 wheels, with an offset of ET 38. I'm desperate for M5 wheels. Honestly, in real life, they don't look bad at all.

You know the front wheels will stick out 5mm more to the outside of the wheel well and 5mm more to the inside of the wheel to the strut housing (inner clearance), right? Not too sure if that means they will stick out beyond the well, but it will be close. You're ok with that, right? Also, which replica's are you going with? You know that all the replica 166's have a lip around the circumference and aren't smooth like the real 166's, right? Just a heads up...I was on the verge of getting these until I heard Monacobmw's horror stories with his replica 166's that caused massive vibrations. I was also concerned about these when it came to the offset difference.

I am now considering these. Here's the thing though...our center bore is 72.51 and these wheels are 72.56. Would that .05 difference cause vibrations? Second, I wonder how these will look being that they're 18's and not 19's. Third, according to the wheel offset calculator, the wheels will push out 6mm. The rear would be fine, but I'm concerned about the front. That last thing I want is for the front wheels/tires to stick out beyond the fender well in the front. But then again, 6mm is nothing. I need to take a ruler and see how far in my current 18" wheel tucks into the front well from the outer edge of the wheel. If it's more than 6mm, we should be fine.

You also have to consider that we have a gap of 14mm more than a sport model, so I wonder how that will play into things in terms of looks. I really would love to see these exact wheels on an xi car, from all sides, before I commit.

I have replicas 18 x 8, with an offset of 35mm, the wheel stick out 8mm more to the outside, but the car looks good and there are not problems with vibrations, as far as I know the center bore, hub, is 72.56mm wich is standar for the xi. In your case, you want to go from 17" to 18" wheels and the offset would be 38mm, In my opinion you should not have problems using them, the wheel will stick out only 5mm, practically nothing. I am using these wheels already for 3 months.
Good luck.
