The underside has the same tabs as the carbon filter in the airbox. Should be able to pop off the cover with a screw driver.

no need for a screw driver or special tools otherwise you will damage the trim. Just pull the leather of the gear knob and take it out of its place.
Then using your fingers pull the plate up.... easy and simple

Make sure you unplug the buttons properly
