A while back I had purchased this from another member on the forum. I had it on my 2007 525xi until I was involved in an accident.

I swapped back the original steering wheel before insurance took away the car.

How much should I expect for a new airbag :#

 

Air bag would probably cost $400-500
Wondering if this wheel fits <09-05 prelci
Confused about the fittment. Will it go straight without modification. Will it exept all round air bags?

 

Where would the paddle shifters go? And is it the nappa leather, can't tell from pics?

 

... huh? ... This is a non paddle shifter steering it's an M-Sport (note the thumb notch on the 10 & 2 o'clock position) version of the Sport Pkg steering wheel.

Where do you acquire the airbag from and did you use an install guide to help when installing? I have a 2007 525xi as well and this would be great.

You can get the round (sport) airbag from various places such as eBay, junk yard even dealer ... just make sure of their quality ... some place like dealer will not ship due to qulify under hazardous material.

When I retrofitted my paddle sifter SMG sport steering wheel the member who I bhought it from ship the whole steering wheel, airbag & wiring w/o any problem.

As for install there are bunch of DIY thread around basically disconnect battery, simply insert a long neck screwdriver and pop out the old airbag after that undo 17mm (I think?) bolt in the middle of the steering (maybe stubborn but then again you don't want this to be loose as it could be ugly) with another person is probably best. Then remove the old steering wheel and reverse the order.
