Ordered this Euro-spec Electrochromic Wide Angle driver's side mirror from relative in Europe. Unfortunately, BMW changed their Electrochromic's circuitry design at the beginning of 2006.
So I have a brand new mirror glass for sale to the discerning driver who does not like blind spots. This mirror will fit e60's with Electrochromic mirrors thru ABOUT 12/05. Replacement is easy and mirror is plug and play.
The back side of your mirror mirror should look like the backside of this mirror; i.e. two separate contact groups for the Electrochromic function and the defogging function. If you have a single flex circuit with a four-conductor plug on it, your car is the new design and this mirror will not work (it will fit and function as a mirror but you will not have Electrochromic dimming and defogging.
To remove your mirror, insert a wedge of wood or plastic between the mirror glass frame and the mirror housing at the outboard (tip) end of the mirror. Apply pressure and the mirror should pop off of the mirror mount.
Part no. is 51167116745. List price on realoem.com is $325.87 which is irrelevant since you cannot buy this in the US. Mine cost $375. Will sell for $325.
PM me if interested.
