I see in your older posts that you were having a difficult time getting it to work, were you able to resolve those issues? Was there a problem with the hardware or just coding issues?

I got it to work plug and play after putting it in my 2010 535xi. We were having an issue with our 2008 535xi because it was an early model and as I understood it: it needed coding. The 2010 was pure plug and play. I imagine anyone that will be doing this mod will have it coded to get the full effects.

Plug & play not really.
U will only get hard steering wheel, when u hit the sport buttom.
Transmission needs to be flash to sport to get full benefit, ecu need to be added to VO to have sport show up in cluster.

This is correct. You will need to have the car coded if you want all of the functionality of a sport transmission and not just the hard steering. The hard steering is the only thing thats plug and play on our 2010 535xi. However, when we tried it orginally on our 2008 535xi it worked but was throwing codes every time the car would be put into reverse or the shift leveler was moved to the left to manually shift. It worked, but the "ding" and yellow warning message got annoying so we tried it in our 2010 535xi and had none of these issues. No dings, no warning lights. We never got around to flashing the full sport transmission software. I imagine the warning lights on a model previous to a 2010 can be coded out however I am no expert.
As far as plug and play goes for only hard steering and no coding: there are no error messages if you have a 2010. Just install, and you are ready to go. Flashing the full sport transmission software is up to you.
We never got to that point as we sold our 2010 model and consolidated to one car.
All the best,
Milo
