Yup, OEM integration was great but the OEM FSC codes and programming sure get you.

I have to say it was still worth it. The best mod I had on the car, something that you can use every time you get in the car. Its a HUGE upgrade from the standard CCC; faster, easier to use, way more useful when it comes to finding POI, USB support and internal HD for music. It was great!

What year was your car?

I read that different parts are needed for different years.

no big difference btwn LCI and pre-LCI....where you have to be careful is what ur original equipment was to begin with. you need more parts if you have the MASK System (non-navigation) to begin with. also its a lot better if you have the hi-fi Logic7 system as well (sound wise)....beyond that you just need coding and software updates before hand...

Exactly, I have a 2007 pre-LCI. Should work equally as well on an LCI.

If anything its easier with the LCI if you want the new iDrive controller as you can order trim for that controller. No center trim for pre-LCI that fits the new idrive style. With pre-LCI your only options are do a LCI conversion or cut your trim, which is pretty easy actually. Thats what I ended up doing so save myself from spending more, plus I loved my bamboo anthricite which is not available for LCI.
