Thats not true necessarily. He could actually buy another RPI muffler and convert to a true dual muffler/quad tip exhaust, it just won't have the same actual performance gains as the original system. OR he could add a dummy on the other side for the "quad look."
The only issue would be money. The RPI could probably fully fund a Magnaflow quad system.

yep, performance wise-use dummy on the right side . alot would disagree but i'm running a quad right now and i notice the difference, pickup is not consistent as before between 5th and 6th gear(i'm taking NJ turnpike everyday).
the problem would be... it will look weird during cold when you are blowing hot steam on one side but not the other...
also it will be hard to find that wil match rpi tip...

just put the rpi in place of ur resonator and weld the tips on to the left and the right.
