Default E60 E61 E63 E64; 5 series, 6 series AUX-IN cable with DIY $34.99 shipped

I was trying to install an aux port in a 2004 540i and bought a cable from dealer for almost $100 with tax. Later I found out that people recommend taking a resistor out of that cable to make the sound better (better bass). I started researching more and was able to find some genuine BMW parts and soldered everything together and made the cable and installed it. Sounds perfect. I decided to make some more and help other people save some money on this cable. COMES WITH GENUINE BMW 3.5mm JACK AND GENUINE BMW PINS.
On eBay for $30 shipped in the US. Compared to $89 plus tax at stealership.

LOTS OF PEOPLE HAVE ASKED IF CODING IS REQUIRED:
YES coding is required!!! THE ONLY situation where you dont need coding is if you already have the aux option in your iDrive entertainment menu. There's many people out there who can code it for you, look on the forums or craigslist to find one in your area. It's quick and easy for people who have inpa set up. I code too but I'm in seattle area. Dealer can do it as well but I have no idea how much they charge, you would be better off finding some guy who does it. Some indie shops do it as well. As for the price, I would charge $20 to code it, so I'm guessing that's what other people charge too, but not sure.

How long is the cable? Will I be able to run it through the back of the center console like the factory application or will i have to put it in the glove box?

From my understanding you would need your I-drive updated to get AUX tab and coding isn't necessary.
I just bought one from him, i'll get back to you guys when i have it installed and maybe do a diy if need be.
My car is also an 04 545i and i plan on routing it to the center console.

If you don't have the aux option in your "music source" then yes it needs to be coded. It's quick and easy if you have inpa and ncs set up.

I can make it as long as you want. But it will be a bit more if you want it longer than 20". (OEM cable comes roughly 2 feet long)
