Monday I am ordering a new set of 166s from Garry of Newport. I thought I would go ahead and put these up. They are the 124s, staggered of course. 245/40/18 front and 275/35/18 rear Dunlop runflats. Rears are pretty much done, fronts have about 60% left.

There are 2 small scuffs on the left rear wheel, I have included a close up

I plan on leaving the TPMs unless you want me to remove the tires, then I'll keep them. Right now it is just not worth paying to break the tires down, remove the TPMS and then remount, so I would just leave them and ship everything. I have sold several sets of wheels on ebay (member id silver550bimmer) so I know that FedEx will run an average $120. Shoot me a fair price and I will send these to you once I get my new ones on.

I know I have very few posts, I have been a lurker for about a year now. I am a Realtor in Evansville, IN. I can be contacted via my website www.buyhomesnow.com/briangarrett.

Any questions, please use my contact info from the website or PM me.

Thanks,
Brian

There is no TPM in the wheels!! it is in ur car and it measures the circumference of the tires and gives you signal in case of loss pressure. Good luck with the sale.

Really? I have metal valves which I have read was the TPM sensor. My wife also had TPMs in her Bimmer that when we went to the M3 wheel we had to turn the system off.

Thanks for the info, I'll look into it more.

No, not really....you have TPMS inside the tires, attached to each of your car's wheels. I am not sure where that dude got his info.

However, they do obviously communicate with the computer IN your car.

I think you are talking about the FTM/ Flat tire Management system.

Yes Exactly. I had the 124s with the same Run Flat Dunlop tires on my 550i 2007 and there was no sensors inside.

"but im not sure bout this information"

The 2007's also had TPMS. I had a 2007 530xi with them, and I got a new set of 4 when I got my new rims.

Starting around 3/2006 production, the TPMS were introduced. Also, one way tell if you have TPMS or not is to check the valve stems. On TPMS cars, the valve is all metal. If your stems are not metal, then you have FTM. The 2nd way is to go to your Idrive. It will tell you if you have TPMS and it will show them green, as "TPMS active."

This may not apply to cars outside of USA, so maybe that's why his car in Dubai had none.

i do know that I have the TPM System. I realize that there are only sensors in the wheels and they "talk" with the computer in the car. I just didn't want to break down the tires to put them in my new set.
